I'm not a packaging filler | design # 010

Don't be deceived by the simplicity of this notebook... it was a laborious 3 hour task!

Cutting foam with a pen knife requires kung fu, it was like cutting a loaf with fruit knife, you really can't use any pressure at all. First hour was spent on mixing + matching materials and browsing books for inspiration. tricky tricky. I was staring at the foam (found inside the pewter packaging box from the bin) for a good one hour before I decided to use it as a notebook cover, half hour to find a suitable paper material and the remaining 1 half hour on production and accessorizing. Size is important for aesthetic as well as maximizing an A4 sized paper so as not to waste. I took a little longer on the cutting coz it was done sitting cross-legged on my cozy bed with a small piece of 9.5"x7" glass as cutting area.

This is very cool! Would make a great "green" gift for just about anyone. I'm seeing a lot of notebooks lately made out of recycled materials but nothing like this. Yours is one of a kind!
